The sounds of country music will reign supreme at Casula tomorrow, Saturday, September 19.
That’s when Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre hosts Casula Country, a family friendly country music festival that will have everyone tapping their feet from noon to 4.30pm.
Not to mention everyone joining in the line dancing that’s also on the program.
It may be Liverpool’s first official country music festival but it will have some of the biggest names in the Australian country music scene taking to the stage tomorrow to entertain fans of the genre.
They include Golden Guitar nominees Simply Bushed and Roo Arcus; and winners of Exhumed 2014, George Spade & the Foxin’ Hounds.
Uniquely Australian, Simply Bushed has been entertaining local country music fans for more than 12 years.
Simply Bushed won two major categories at the Tamworth Festival People’s choice awards, Battle of the Bush bands 2008 and many more country music honours.
The day will also feature a karaoke set by local legend Tony Scholes and line dancing with Red Hot & Country. There will also be delicious country style food served by Casula Powerhouse’s own Bellbird Café.
Liverpool Mayor Ned Mannoun saysd he can’t wait to see the people of Liverpool boot scooting at Casula Country.
“I am a fan of all music and country music is no exception,’’ he said.
“It’s wonderful to see such famous acts like Roo Arcus bringing his chart topping hits to Liverpool so get your boots on!”
Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre Director Kiersten Fishburn says Casula Country is a perfect day out for all.
“There will be plenty of food, dancing and great music. This is also an alcohol-free event, so perfect for families to seniors; everyone is sure to have a great time!”
