Hume Highway crash claims life of 60 year old driver

A report will be prepared for the coroner after a fatal crash in Eagle Vale today which claimed the life of a 60 year old man.

Around 2.45pm emergency services were called to the Hume Highway under the Raby Road overpass Eagle Vale, following reports two cars had collided.

Police from Macquarie Fields Local Area Command and The Traffic and Highway Patrol attended and found a vehicle had veered off the road, crossed back over the Highway and collided with another vehicle, causing that vehicle to roll on its roof.

The male driver of the rolled vehicle, and sole occupant, was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics for minor injuries.

The male driver of the other vehicle, aged 60, and sole occupant, died at the scene.

Officers with the assistance from Crash Investigation Unit attended and will investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
