The parade is the popular start to the Fisher’s Ghost Festival for most Campbelltown residents and visitors from across Sydney and Australia.
But a day earlier, today, Friday, November 6, local craft and creativity goes on display when the craft exhibition opens at HJ Daley Library.
It will be open until Sunday, November 15.
The exhibition is a long standing tradition of the festival, which celebrates 60 years this year, and attracts entries in a variety of categories including knitting and crochet, embroidery, quilting, painting, and quilling.
Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr Paul Hawker, said the exhibition was a wonderful opportunity to see the work of local craftspeople.
“The exhibition showcases the skill and artistry of our city’s craft community and acknowledges the creativity and commitment of the exhibitors,” Cr Hawker said.

“From craft to music to carnival rides, the Festival of Fisher’s Ghost has something for everyone,’’ he said.
“It’s ten days of fun and entertainment, and we want everyone to join the party,” Cr Hawker said.
Winners of the People’s Choice and Mayor’s Choice Awards will be announced at the close of the exhibition.
The Festival of Fisher’s Ghost Craft Exhibition is a free event and is open to the public during normal library operating hours.
