The ideas of eight local community groups will turn into reality thanks to a $7,000 boost.
It is all part of Campbelltown City Council’s annual Community Grants Program.
“Local initiatives such as those that have received grant funding this week are the social fabric of our community,’’ says the mayor of Campbelltown, Paul Hawker.
“They help council in building greater community connectedness and social cohesion through the provision of services and activities for the vulnerable, aged or disadvantaged,” Cr Hawker said.
“I’m highly appreciative of the work that our many community groups do, particularly their participation in some of council’s major events, including Ingleburn Alive, Riverfest and the Festival of Fisher’s Ghost.
“They help the community to connect not only with one another, but with a range of services, local initiatives and Council.
“Council is pleased to be able to provide support to these groups, to make our city an even better place to live, work, play and invest,” Cr Hawker said.
Funding applications for Round 2 of this year’s Community Grants program will open on Monday, September 5.
