Council backs small business in Liverpool

Liverpool Council says it wants to back small businesses grow and thrive.

As part of that, says Liverpool Mayor Ned Mannoun, the council is taking a proactive role during the annual Small Business Week, which this year is being held during September 14-18.

“There are some really great events designed to help small business in Liverpool,’’ says Mr Mannoun.

They include Working Lunch hosted by Deloitte, this Thursday, September 17, 12pm- 2pm at Liverpool Hospital. This seminar will target professional, financial and advisory specialists.

This seminar will feature Alex Sanchez, an Associate Director at Deloitte Access Economics’ Western Sydney Office in Parramatta.

A former deputy mayor of Liverpool Council and Chairman of WSROC, prior to joining Deloitte Alex Sanchez spent 10 years as an executive in the general insurance sector leading reforms in tax policy and the financial services regulation.

He also lectures at the University of Western Sydney and as both an Economist and resident of Liverpool, Mr Sanchez has a strong understanding of Sydney’s South West regional development.

Mr Sanchez will be presenting on the economic opportunities and risks for Liverpool and Sydney’s South West with an emphasis on the opportunities arising from Badgerys Creek Airport.

He will also discuss the work Deloitte are undertaking with their Shaping Future Cities Project and the important goal of closing the jobs gap deficit for Sydney’s Greater West.

• Business futurist and innovation expert Craig Rispin will be the guest speaker at Making the Connection – Automate your Success on Friday September 18, 7am – 9am at Gemelle Ristorante Italiano, 79 Bathurst St, Liverpool.

• Another event is SmallBiz Support on Wheels, Wednesday, September 16, 9am-3pm, Macquarie Mall, Liverpool. Support on Wheels will also be held on Friday, September 18, 7am-1pm, Bunnings at Crossroads, Casula.

  1. They seem to only support Cafes and Coffee shop owners..what about real local business and real local jobs..Does this coffee shop pay $1.00 for its premises? ?
    What’s the point of getting rid of the council jobs and then pretending that you give a damn….you couldn’t care less about the hard working people that make liverpool..
