The Campbelltown Rainbow Club received $4,180 from Clubgrants last year to provide individualised swimming lessons for children with a disability.

The Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, has praised the Clubgrants program, saying it had funded many worthy projects in past years.

“These projects are vital to the wellbeing of our community, and often provide services which residents might not otherwise be able to access,” he said.

Campbelltown City Council and Sector Connect oversee and administer the program.

Eighteen projects shared in more than $80,000 in funding in 2016, contributed by participating local clubs, including Campbelltown Catholic Club, Campbelltown RSL Club, Ingleburn RSL Club and Western Suburbs Leagues Club.

Groups which received funding last year included:

Campbelltown Rainbow Club, which received $4,180 to provide individualised swimming lessons for children with a disability.

Cancer Patient Foundation, which received $2,500 for Look Good Feel Better, a free community service program dedicated to teaching cancer patients techniques to help them cope with the appearance related side effects of cancer treatment.

Campbelltown 1st Ghost Scouts, one of only four disability scout groups across Australia, which received $5,000 towards the upgrade and maintenance of their scout hall.

Defence Care RSL, which received $5,000 towards enhancing the wellbeing of Australian Defence Force veterans and their families through services including counselling, financial assistance, medical equipment and household support during illness or injury.

The time has arrived for another round of grants and Campbelltown charities, community groups and sporting clubs, are invited to apply for funds.

Applications can only be made online between next Monday, March 27 and Friday, May 5.
