Campbelltown MP Greg Warren’s Christmas toy drive is back for the second year in a row

Run for the first time last year, the Labor MP’s drive encourages local residents and small businesses to donate toys and other small gifts.

These are then distributed to children in the Campbelltown area who are affected by family and domestic violence.

Mr Warren is calling on the local community to again dig deep and build on last year’s effort to brighten up Christmas for some of the region’s most disadvantaged children.

“I’m delighted to be running a toy drive for disadvantaged children again this year – as the local member there’s not too many things that bring me more joy,’’ Mr Warren said.

“Christmas is a time of joy and celebration for so many people, particularly children, but unfortunately for some kids Christmas isn’t such a happy time.

“I encourage everyone – residents, families, businesses and anyone else who can spare a toy or small gift – to get in the Christmas spirit and support some of our most disadvantaged children,” Mr Warren said.

In announcing the return of the toy drive last Friday, Mr Warren was joined by representatives from Macarthur Square and Anytime Fitness, who were major contributors in 2015 and who have come on board to support the drive in its second year.

The drive will run until Friday, December 16.

All donations will be distributed by Macarthur Gateway Resource Services to local children in need.

Last year’s drive resulted in more than 500 toys and small gifts collected.

Donations can be dropped off at his electorate office at Shop 3, 72 Queen Street, Campbelltown, during business hours.
