It’s starting to look a lot like Christmas at Minto Mall, but the best is yet to come.
This Sunday, November 26, Santa will arrive in his sleigh and accompanied by live reindeer, as was the case last year.
Before arriving in the centre at 11am, Santa and his reindeers will feature in a spectacular street parade along Brookfield Road.
A marching band playing Christmas tunes and colourful festive characters chanting Merry Christmas will be part of this year’s parade.
At the conclusion of the parade, the Magic of Christmas Show will feature on centre stage.
Once that’s completed, Santa will take residence in his Christmas Wonderland until Christmas Eve.
The reindeer will return for photo opportunities next Monday, November 27 from 10 am to 11am at the Australia Post entry to Minto Mall.
December also marks a milestone for Minto Mall – 10 years of serving the local community.
“We wish to thank our wonderful and loyal shoppers for their continued support during the centre’s journey thus far and we look forward to the next 10 years with even more exciting things to come,’’ a Minto Mall spokesperson said.
“At Minto Mall, the Christmas tradition has continued over the years, bringing families and friends together to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas, whether it be by donating towards a worthy cause for the needy, or just by spreading goodwill and friendship towards their fellow man.
“The Minto Mall Christmas this year, will bring all the joys and wonders of the season with loads of family fun and activities throughout the centre,’’ the spokesperson said.
The centre’s traditional Christmas decorations and Santa display, above, have been upgraded, including a beautiful life-sized Nativity display, pictured at top.
No bookings are required for photos with Santa, which will be available between 12 noon to 4pm daily. On Thursdays 12 noon to 6pm.
Pet photos with Santa are available Tuesdays and Wednesdays 6pm to 8pm. Bookings to be made from Minto Fast Photos on 8798 4759.
Sensory photos with Santa are available each Wednesday, 7.30am to 9am. Bookings also to be made from Minto Fast Photos on 8798 4759.
Traditional Christmas Carols this year, will be performed each Saturday on centre stage at 11am, 12 noon and 1pm.
Carols will also be performed by the Sarah Redfern Public School choir.
Breakfast with Santa has been booked out early this year. However, by popular demand, Brunch with Santa will be on Saturday, December 2 from 10am at the Flavour Lane restaurant precinct opposite My Italian. Bookings to be made from centre management in person.
The Salvos gift wrapping with a donation will once again be offered at Minto Mall from the week commencing December 4 and until December 24. All donations will go towards the Salvation Army Christmas appeal.
