Matthew Gabriel, the young man behind Chevron Technologies, was in Year 9 at John Therry Catholic High School when he thought IT would be the career for him.
He remembers that learning about systems, programming and modern technology sparked a strong interest in him at the time.
“I decided to pursue it passionately when leaving school, taking on a two year journey with TAFE Campbelltown to gain a Diploma in Systems Administration and then start my career in the city on a Helpdesk,’’ he says.
He spent the next 15 years in IT Systems Engineering and Management, but two years ago Gabriel established Chevron Technologies after returning to TAFE to complete a Diploma in Website Development.
“I just love technologies and computing so much I decided this is where I wanted to be,’’ he says.
But it has also meant he could work closer to home – Macquarie Fields – offering Campbelltown and Macarthur region small to medium businesses with top notch website support, design and development services in their own backyard.
“My services mean helping businesses regaining valuable time that they can put back into running their businesses, as well as less worry about their technologies, and the ability to quickly, professionally and reliably bring their business ideas to life online.’’
Chevron technologies clients come from a variety of industries, including retail, beauty, fitness, photography, fashion, natural therapies, finance, construction, journalism [that would be us, the South West Voice in Macarthur], security, real estate and property.
“I am a flexible professional capable of working with most businesses out there,’’ says Gabriel, who grew up in Campbelltown, where he attended primary school at Our Lady Help of Christians in Rosemeadow.
“I am passionate about automation, finding systems, technologies or creating them to make business easier for the owner of the website or the user of the website.
“It is part of continuous improvement in the lifecycle of a system to find new and improved ways to operate systems and technologies.’’
