Campbelltown Challenge Walk
The annual Campbelltown Challenge Walk is held in the picturesque surrounds of the Australian Botanic Garden at Mount Annan.

Grab your walking shoes and head to The Australian Botanic Garden, Mount Annan on Sunday, March 12 for the annual Campbelltown City challenge walk.

The challenge walk promotes health and fitness for people of all ages and abilities, and locals are encouraged to be part of the event – whether it be their first time or an annual tradition.

Participants can choose from either a six kilometre fun walk or 11 kilometre endurance walk around the scenic grounds of the gardens.

With 12 different age divisions, four team categories – primary school, secondary school, corporate and open – and the non-competitive wheelchair category, the challenge walk is great fun for everyone who enjoys the outdoors.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, said walking was a safe and popular form of exercise, which was reflected in the growing number of people who participated in the event each year.

“The challenge walk is an opportunity to have fun and enjoy the outdoors with family, friends or work mates, with the spectacular backdrop of The Australian Botanic Garden, Mount Annan,” he said.

Last minute entries will be accepted on the day until 7.30am, at a fee of $20.

Everyone who finishes the challenge walk is eligible to share in a range of barrel draw prizes on the day.

Free parking is available at the venue, or take advantage of the free Busabout shuttle service, departing from Campbelltown railway station at 7am. Free child minding for children aged four to 12 years will also be available, but must be booked via the entry form.
