Catherine Park Estate, located in the heart of the Macarthur region, has been crowned Australia’s best residential subdivision.

To be considered for the national Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) award, Catherine Park took out the state category late last year.

Other state winners from around the country were also in the running for the national award, with Catherine Park victorious.

“Attention to detail is apparent, and the developers are to be commended for doing density differently and raising the bar for industry and consumers alike,’’ said the judges of the Harrington Estates entry.

“Catherine Park emphatically demonstrates the developer’s commitment to creating a sustainable development with authentic community building initiatives.

“Creating a legacy residential project requires patience and attention to detail, both of which Harrington Estates have demonstrated admirably.

“The innovative partnership with local builders to control the built form outcome has delivered long lasting benefits in terms of choice and quality for consumers,” the judges said.

The residential subdivision category recognises new low density residential developments that include single storey, double storey freestanding and semi detached homes with private open space.

Harrington Estates, the developer of Catherine Park Estate, has won multiple UDIA state and national awards for its Harrington Park and Harrington Grove projects.

All three have now won state and national UDIA awards.

Terry Goldacre, managing director of Harrington Estates since it was established, said he and his team consider it a great honour to receive recognition from the UDIA, and the industry more broadly, for the development.

“Receiving this national award is very gratifying as it’s reviewed by our industry peers and is highly regarded throughout the property sector,’’ he said.

“It is great that the judges picked up on our choices saying that they found our approach to community development to be refreshing, and the respect paid to the heritage of the project was to be admired.

“We’ve been working in the Camden area for over 30 years and have developed an excellent relationship with Camden Council who have shared our vision and commitment to build a quality development for our residents.’’

Catherine Park Estate includes approximately 1,750 dwellings, of which about 1,200 have been delivered to date.

Catherine Park Estate features kilometres of pathways and cycleways, with sports fields, an off-leash dog park, a pedestrian boulevard, and many parks complemented by natural bushland.

It also includes generous planting of street trees throughout the estate, sourced from Harrington Estates’ in-house nursery.

The estate also celebrates the historic Catherine Park House, and Harrington Estates worked with the relevant historical and government authorities to ensure it was preserved.

Housing options available at Catherine Park Estate include land and completed homes.
