Carjacking victim was dragged along the road

Detectives are appealing for information after a carjacking near Camden on Sunday evening.

Emergency services responded to reports of a carjacking in River Road, Elderslie around 5.30pm.

A 43-year-old man was driving his silver-coloured Holden Statesman Caprice sedan when he was allegedly assaulted by a man who stole his car.

The man tried to stop the car from being driven off, and sustained injuries to his lower leg where he was dragged by the car because his clothing was stuck in the door.

When he eventually managed to disentangle himself, he ran to a nearby fruit shop where the owners called for help.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital for further treatment.

A crime scene was established, and investigations have commenced.

Inquiries are ongoing.

A local police officer will face court over domestic violence related charges.

The 31-year-old male senior constable is attached to a command in the South West Metropolitan Region.

He is alleged to have stalked and harassed a woman known to him in December 2025.

The matter was reported to police in February of this year.

Following extensive inquiries, a Future Court Attendance Notice was served last Tuesday (April 21), for the offences of stalking/intimidate with the intention to cause fear of physical harm (domestic violence).

He has also been charged with installing and using a tracking device without consent to find another person (domestic violence).

He is due to appear at Picton Local Court on Thursday, June 11.

Police will allege the man was off duty at the time of the incidents.

The officer is currently not in the workplace and his employment status is under review.
