Every person who is a carer in our communities is a champion, says local MP Greg Warren.
Mr Warren said carers do an incredible job in the community.
The Labor State Member for Campbelltown was speaking after presenting Jill Hughes, a local Campbelltown carer, with a NSW Carers Award.
The NSW Carers Awards acknowledge and celebrate the significant unpaid contribution carers make to the person, or people, they care for and to the broader community.
Local mum Jill Hughes was nominated anonymously for the award, for the work she does caring for her disabled foster children.
In presenting the award, Mr Warren paid tribute to the amazing work done every day by Ms Hughes, as well as other carers just like her in the Macarthur region.
“These awards are about honouring those who give up their time to look after some of the most vulnerable people in our community,” Mr Warren said.
“Jill’s story is one of countless from across Campbelltown.
