Very popular: Ingleburn High School students at a previous Macarthur Careers Expo, which this year will include hot spots of live demonstrations and workshops.

Next Thursday’s 2016 Macarthur Careers Expo will be hot.

With the guidance of Macarthur Career Advisors and MWLP – Linking Youth, this year’s expo will have a greater focus on hands-on and interactive participation from exhibitors to help better engage the students.

And careers coordinator Tiana Batista plans to create a number of hot spots on the expo floor with live demonstrations and workshops.

There will also be seminars from the University Admissions Centre, SWSi Tafe, NRL NSW as well as giveaways on the day.

On top of all that, exhibitors will be encouraged to think outside the square when setting up their displays to give this year’s expo a different look and feel from previous years.

The expo – which will be held in the Minto Indoor Sports Centre on Thursday, June 9 – is expected to attract more than 3,000 Year 10, 11 and 12 students from both government and non-government schools.

Focus of this year’s expo will be on career exploration, transition from school and industry showcase.

So far the 2016 participants include the NRL, AFL Sports Ready, National Institute of Dramatic Arts (NIDA), Colleges specialising in hospitality, childcare, legal studies, aged care, fashion/beauty, media studies, tourism and management, Gap Year Options, Apprenticeship Centres, all major Sydney universities, University of Wollongong, Western Sydney University, University of Canberra, Bond University, local businesses and many more.

There are limited sponsorship packages still available for businesses interested in showcasing their organisations to thousands of students, teachers and other exhibitors.

Organisations requiring additional information or wanting to register please contact Tiana at tiana.batista@mwlp.com.au on 4625 1863 or visit the website here.
