Campbelltown Sports Stadium will host big time soccer next month.

The Western Sydney Wanderers will square off against fellow A-League outfit Wellington Phoenix in the FFA Cup Round of 32 on Tuesday, August 2 at Campbelltown Stadium.

The match kick off is scheduled for 8pm.

It will be the first competitive fixture of the 2016/17 season for the Wanderers.

It will give fans the chance to see new signings Steven Lustica, Jerrad Tyson and Bruno Piñatares in action.

Although the Phoenix were drawn as the home team, FFA regulations state that all Westfield FFA Cup matches must be played in Australia.

The last meeting between the two sides was back in April this year, where a Brendon Santalab double gave the Wanderers a 2-0 win at Westpac Stadium on the final day of the 2015/16 season.

The game will not be televised, however it will be shown via livestream on Fox Sports.

Spanish central defender signs with the Wanderers

• In other Wanderers news, the club have just announced the signing of Spanish central defender Aritz Borda.

The 31-year-old defender has had a global career that has spanned both Asia and Europe.

Borda joins the Wanderers from Spanish outfit Deportivo Alavés, having helped the side secure promotion to La Liga after topping the Segunda division in 2015/16.

Borda is a welcome addition to the Wanderers defence for the upcoming season, bringing a wealth of experience and maturity.

Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas said Aritz would be a strong presence in the team’s defensive unit.

“From what our coaching staff have seen of Aritz they are very confident he will be a formidable presence in our backline this season,” Tsatsimas said.

“He has played in Asia previously and has had good experience in European leagues so we expect he will fit into our structure well.”

Borda said he was looking forward to joining the squad and representing the Wanderers.

“I am super excited to join the Wanderers for the next two seasons,’’ he said.
