Mayor Darcy Lound has praised Campbelltown for its incredible community spirit after this year’s charity gala dinner raised 45,000.
More than 300 people attended the Hawaiian-themed evening, hosted by Mayor Darcy Lound at Ottimo House on Saturday, August 8.
The Campbelltown community rose to the occasion, helping to raise $44,998.91 for local charity, the Blue Butterfly Institute, a level of generosity noted by the mayor.
“I’m incredibly proud of what our Campbelltown community has achieved through this year’s charity gala dinner,” Mayor Lound said.
“Seeing so many local businesses, organisations and individuals come together to support The Blue Butterfly Institute was a wonderful reminder of the generosity and compassion that exists across our community.
“The funds raised on the night will help the institute continue its important work supporting victims and survivors of sexual trauma, while expanding access to awareness, education, training and community learning opportunities,” he said.
“I want to thank everyone who contributed to making the evening such a success, and especially the dedicated volunteers on the Blue Butterfly Institute’s board, who give their time and expertise to support such important work.”
The Mayor’s charity gala dinner was supported by Platinum sponsor Wests Group Macarthur.
Silver sponsors included Cameron Brae Group and Marsdens Law Group.
The bronze sponsor was Maverick Supports, and the entertainment sponsors were Macarthur Entertainment, The Enchanted Trove and School of Rock Macarthur.
