Macarthur FC are back home for another tough assignment at Campbelltown Stadium on Saturday night when they host Melbourne City.
Last Monday night Wellington Phoenix defeated the Bulls 2-1 to confirm their bogey team status.
Unfortunately, Melbourne City is another club the Bulls haven’t had much success against since entering the A-League.
There have been a total of nine clashes between them, and Macarthur celebrated victory just once.
Three of those matches were drawn and the Melbourne side won the other five games.
At Campbelltown Stadium the Bulls record against the Victorians is a little better, winning one, losing one and drawing two.
The overall goal difference is stark, with 20 to Melbourne and just nine to Macarthur.
Against the Nix, the Bulls goal scoring radar stopped working after they grabbed an early 1-0 lead.
Let’s hope it’s fully functioning for the entire match, otherwise the high flying City side will punish the Bulls in this round 16 fixture.
The Victorians are running third on the ladder, with the Bulls three spots back in sixth.
But the season has entered the home straight and premiership points will be at a premium from now on.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 7.35pm.
In other club news, two players have left the club in the past few days.
Macarthur FC confirm that they have agreed to a fee, including an on-sell amount, for youngster Ariath Piol as he pursues an overseas opportunity.
Piol joined the A-League men’s team for the 2023/24 season after graduating from the Bulls FC Academy.
In his time with the club, he made an impressive impact. In just 11 games for the Bulls, Piol scored four great goals, including an unforgettable bicycle kick, and assisted teammate Jed Drew.
His performances made him a key part of the team’s attack and a favourite among fans.
Macarthur FC also confirmed that the club has mutually agreed to terminate the contract of defender Dino Arslanagic.
