Camp Quality CEO to inspire Narellan chamber

Simon Rowntree: the Camp Quality CEO will be the guest speaker at this Wednesday’s dinner meeting of the Greater Narellan chamber of commerce.

The Greater Narellan Chamber of Commerce next dinner meeting is on this this Wednesday, November 11 and it will feature Camp Quality CEO Simon Rowntree as the guest speaker.

Mr Rowntree started his working life as a pre-school teacher and has moved through to positions in both the private and government sectors.

For more than 20 years he has worked in the not for profit sector undertaking various management roles with organisations such as the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Starlight Children’s Foundation and currently with Camp Quality.

Camp Quality is a national charity whose purpose is to create a better life for every child living with cancer in Australia.

Its current programs provide positive psychosocial support to families no matter where they live or where they are in their cancer journey.

Since joining Camp Quality in 2000, Simon Rowntree has moved the organisation to adopt a unique organisation culture built around optimism, resilience, fun and wellbeing.

This has enabled Camp Quality to grow its program delivery to over 225,000 children per year, increase revenue and staff, whilst decreasing the cost of administration to a very low ratio.

Along the way Camp Quality has won the 2011 PwC Transparency Award for the Not For Profit Sector and is currently ranked the most reputable children’s charity in Australia in AMR’s charity reputation index.

Simon Rowntree has spoken at many local and international conferences including the Aust/NZ HR Directors Conference and the Asia Pacific CEO Forum.
