The Thirlmere Roosters eliminated Mittagong Lions 26-8 last weekend in the first semi final of the 2024 Macarthur Conference rugby league premiership at Dudley Chesham Sports Ground last Sunday.
In the qualifying semi final, The Oaks Tigers prevailed over neighbours Oakdale Workers 30-18 in a five tries to three performance.
Ragen Gilbert bagged two tries for the Tigers, while Mitchell Brasington kicked four from five, as well as a penalty goal.
Kyle Frasher also scored a double for Oakdale Workers.
In the elimination semi final, the Roosters crossed five times, while their kicker, Corey Norman, converted three of them.
No disrespect meant, but it was all a bit of a rehearsal for this coming week, when the unstoppable juggernaut, the Camden Rams, join the finals battle.
They will be right at home with this round of finals, which will be played at Kirkham Park on Sunday.
Rams will line up against the Oaks Tigers in the second match of the afternoon.
The Tigers were good against Oakdale, but will have to go up another level or three to match it with Camden, who have swept all before them in an undefeated, brilliant season so far.
And really that’s been the question all season: can anyone stop the Rams from lifting the trophy in 2024.
Time will tell.
