The inaugural Camden edition of Monopoly is ready to roll and residents will be able to buy one at the Camden Council information stall on the second day of the Jacaranda Festival this Saturday.

They cost $60 each, with all funds from the sale of the game to be donated to Lifeline Macarthur and the Camden Wollondilly Domestic Violence Committee.

Mayor Theresa Fedeli, who was on hand when 2,000 Camden Monopoly games were delivered last Friday, is urging residents to get in quick.

“Camden Monopoly has truly been the buzz around Camden, so we are expecting these 2,000 games to fly off the shelves,” Cr Fedeli said.

“It is a classic, timeless game that residents can be proud of for generations to come.

“Our board features 22 popular and much loved locations from around the Camden area, including the Macarthur Park, Argyle Street in Camden, Belgenny Farm and, my personal favourite, Birriwa Reserve Outdoor Youth Space.

Delivery: Camden Mayor Therese Fedeli with the Camden Monopoly board games.

“It’s so fitting this game is being sold at the Jacaranda Festival as both are such a celebration of our beautiful area,’’ the mayor said.

 “And it’s the perfect Christmas present to bring family and friends together for a really fun time!”

The three day Camden Jacaranda Festival begins this Friday with Friday Night Live when local artists will perform in a number of venues along Argyle Street.

The second day of the event will focus on the Jacaranda Experience and will include markets, dining areas, entertainment and fireworks.

It will finish on Sunday, which will focus on the Camden Experience, including the self-guided Jacaranda Walkabout Tour.

Any Camden Monopoly games remaining after the Jacaranda Festival will be available for purchase from:

  • Council Administration Building, 70 Central Avenue, Oran Park;
  • Customer Service Hub at Camden Library, 40 John Street, Camden;
  • Customer Service Hub at Narellan Library, corner Queen and Elyard Streets, Narellan;
  • Alan Baker Art Gallery, 37 John St, Camden; and
