When the Lakeside Golf Club Ladies hosted their annual Tee up for life charity golf day last week, it was for a very good cause once again.
The ladies this year raised funds for Dignity, a charity that supports those in the local community affected by homelessness.
And once again this annual event was a roaring success, with more than 20 clubs taking part at Camden lakeside.
They helped to raise over $10,000, with a further $10,000 donated on behalf of the Lakeside Lady Golf Club members.
Although there was so much more to the day than winning, on the day it was Donna Forrest, Tracey Wood, Julie Turnbull and Leonie Guthrie that finished in first place.
All entrants dressed for the occasion in bright team colours and enjoyed the beautiful weather on the award-winning golf course playing in support of a great cause.
The Camden Lakeside Ladies were thrilled to be able to support Dignity.
“So many of us hear about the need and have the means and the want to help but can’t get straight to the people who need it. That’s why we love supporting Dignity because we know that every dollar goes directly into your homes and helping the most vulnerable in our community,’’ they said in a statement.
Dignity was established in 2015 to support people at risk of or experiencing homelessness by providing shelter, food, clothing, advocacy and education to them.
It aims to empower such people to regain control of their lives.
With a number of shelters in the Macarthur area, Dignity are integral to providing people in the community experiencing homelessness with critical services to assist in the transition to permanent housing.
Dignity was recently awarded the 2019 Telstra NSW social change maker award.
Thanks to the Lakeside Lady Golf members and their fundraising efforts through this special charity event at Lakeside Golf Club Camden, Dignity can continue helping those less fortunate.
Lakeside Golf Club Camden is part of Wests Group Macarthur.
