Friday Night Live will kick off this year’s Camden Jacaranda Festival on Friday, November 22.
Local artists will perform in a number of different venues along Argyle Street throughout the evening.
This will be the second year of the Jacaranda Festival after its introduction to the Camden social calendar this time last year.
The second day of the 2019 event on Saturday, November 23, will focus on the Jacaranda Experience.
On offer from 4pm until 9.30pm will be a market with stalls selling both Christmas gifts and delicious food and dining areas under the jacaranda trees, along Argyle Street;
Festival goers will also be able to a selfie with Santa, with Santa’s Tent taking gold coin donations for the Dilly Drought Drive, entertainment, including a Katie Perry and Taylor Swift tribute show and fireworks.
The third day of the Jacaranda Festival on Sunday, November 24, will highlight the “Camden experience’’, including the self-guided Jacaranda Walkabout Tour. Maps will be available for purchase from the Jacaranda Festival website.
In the meantime, in preparation for Camden Council’s community Christmas tree light up the fairy lights on Argyle Street were turned off last week.
Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said there would be routine maintenance work done to ensure they are ready to go for the big event.
“I’ll be lighting the tree on Saturday, November 23,” Cr Fedeli said.
“I’m excited to have the Mayoral Christmas card competition winner, who will be announced that night, to light the tree with me.
“Christmas is such a fantastic time of year, filled with so much happiness and generosity.
“I really encourage our community to head down to the Jacaranda Festival and spend time with family, friends and the broader Camden community.
“There’s such a beautiful atmosphere at the event and it really is a celebration of the beautiful Camden area.”
