Camden Council is about to enter a new era.

On Monday, August 8, council’s administration will operate from its new building in Central Avenue, Oran Park.

The move will take place just one month before the local government elections of September 10.

After many years in the John Street, Camden administration building the council is looking to the future with the move to the area’s new hub in Oran Park.

And while ratepayers will still be able to access council services such as paying rates at both Camden and Narellan libraries, there’s no doubt that Oran Park will eventually become the heart of the Camden area.

For many years it looked like Narellan would become the location of a new administration centre, but the State Government’s South West strategy has put paid to that.

Council today formally announced the new administration building or civic centre in Oran Park will be opening on August 8.

From that day on, customer contact points will be available in both Camden and Narellan libraries to conduct normal council business.

Camden residents will still be able to contact council via the same phone numbers, email addresses, website and PO Box.
