The Camden Cats overpowered the UTS Bats on the weekend.

The Camden Cats premier division reserves side conjured a last quarter revival to record a narrow 4 point win against the UTS Bats on Saturday.

Bolstered by the inclusion of club legends Chris Lees and premiership player Matthew Withers, the Camden Cats were ready to pounce from the opening bounce with a big home crowd in attendance at Fairfax Reserve.

The first three quarters were a seesawing affair with neither team able to gain the ascendency.

UTS made the most of their limited opportunities up forward to take a comfortable 19 point lead into the final quarter.

The last quarter saw the Cats take it up a gear as they dominated general play and peppered the goals with 12 scoring shots to 2.

Wayward kicking at goal from the Camden forwards kept UTS in the game, but the Cats finished the stronger running out winners and knocking off their more fancied opponents for one of their best wins of the season.

Camden midfielders Gordon Cameron and Craig Trewhella were dominant in the contest all day, while Matt Lecek had one of his best games of the season up forward, well supported by Taine Gilheany with 3 goals for the Cats.

Camden Cats goal kickers: T. Gilheany 3, M. Withers, M. Lecek, A. Lodge, N. Small, C. Lees.

Camden Cats best players: M. Lecek, G. Cameron, C. Lees, C. Trewhella, T. Gilheany, B. McGrath.

The Camden Cats will host Manly Wolves this coming Saturday; with Premier Division starting at 2pm at Fairfax Reserve, Harrington Park.
