There’s a buzz around the Ingleburn shopping precinct today.
That’s because the $20 million refurbishment of Ingleburn Village is complete and stores such as Coles opened their doors to eager locals from this morning.
Some of the stores are yet to be open, but owner Jonathan Dan confirmed that they would be operating by the time the official opening is held on Thursday, December 14. The mayor of Campbelltown George Brticevic is expected to do the honours.
Member for Macquarie Fields, Anoulack Chanthivong has welcomed the opening.
“Local residents have been eagerly awaiting the refurbishment of this shopping complex, which is a welcome boost for local jobs and the local economy,” he said.
“The new Coles at Ingleburn Village is an exciting addition to retail options in the local area and I look forward to the official opening of the shopping complex next month, which will provide even more opportunities for local jobs,” Mr Chanthivong said.
Mr Dan said he was happy with the refurbishment of the former Ingleburn Fair shopping centre, but was looking forward to all the businesses opening their doors to serve the people of Ingleburn and surrounds.
“We are really happy with the way Ingleburn Village looks and feels,’’ Mr Dan said.
A feature is the timber ceiling across the entire centre.
The Coles store is a real eye opener, with wide aisles and smart looking displays across the store.
The carpark, which needed major repairs, has been also fixed up and looks as good as new.
To come are a café with an outdoor dining area, a real estate agent, a barber, hairdresser, jeweller, massage, Eyes By Design optometrist, Chicken Hut, Sushi bar opposite Coles, another café and a branch of the Commonwealth bank.
Mr Dan said also coming is a four storey commercial building to the left of the main entrance.
Work is well under way on the building.
