Macarthur FC are still alive in the 2025 Australia Cup after a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Metro Stars in Adelaide on Monday night.
The Bulls will now travel to Newcastle to take on the Jets in the quarter finals, which will be played over six days on August 19-24.
The other three quarter finals will pit Sydney FC against Auckland FC, Heidelberg United FC and Wellington Phoenix FC, with Avondale FC to host Brisbane City FC.
Bulls are the reigning Australia Cup trophy holders after winning the final in 2024.
It was the second time in their short history that they have won the prestigious competition, which aims to replicate the English FA Cup.
On Monday night Bulls goalkeeper Filip Kurto was tested early by the home side, who raced out of the blocks from the opening whistle.
Metro Stars had a shot at goal after just two minutes but the ever reliable Bulls goalie was up to the task, palming it away.
The Bulls absorbed the early pressure and waited for the perfect moment to strike, which came in the 33rd minute.
Their Adelaide-born winger Bernardo found himself in space and calmly slotted the ball past the keeper to put the Bulls ahead.
Before the break, Bernardo and Harry Politidis both came close to doubling the lead, but the score remained 1-0 at half-time.
The second half began in style for the Bulls. Just a minute in, Harrison Sawyer whipped in a pinpoint cross for Chris Ikonomidis, who smashed home a thunderous strike to make it 2-0.
Metro Stars nearly pulled one back in the 59th minute, but Kurto collected the danger with ease. The Bulls saw out the remainder of the match with composure, securing both the win and a clean sheet.
Now they will be off to Adelaide and the chance to book their place in the semi finals.
