Brand Campbelltown an idea whose time has come

If you were tasked with coming up with a branding promotion for Campbelltown, what positive themes would you include?

Would our proximity to pristine bushland, including the Georges River and a national park make it on your Campbelltown brand?

Would the local koala colony or our large Indigenous population be included?

What about our abundant sporting facilities and our relaxed lifestyle, especially on weekends?

Campbelltown Council, which has launched a branding initiative of our town wants to hear your ideas.

The city brand, including the development of a new logo, will require the stories, perspective and local knowledge of the community during the next few months.

“The initiative to establish a contemporary city brand is a key element for our community as we evolve into a metropolis at the gateway of the fastest growing region in Australia,” says Mayor George Brticevic.

“It is important to us that we build the area’s reputation to accurately reflect our positive attributes and assets as a city,” he said.

“We want to create a brand that will tell the story of the city in a contemporary way that relates to its people and place,” Cr Brticevic said.

“I encourage everyone to be involved in this project to ensure that this is a brand based on our community’s love and vision for their home town,” he said.

There will be several rounds of community consultation to inform the design of the logo that will be held between now and May that will include vox pops in town centres, organised interviews with community members, co-creation sessions and online surveys.

Brand specialists, Principals, will be undertaking the consultation with the first round of community consultation under way this month, including an online survey and vox pops to learn about community sentiment for the city.
