Body found inside Razorback home after fire

An investigation has been launched into the grim discovery of a body inside a house near Picton after a fire was extinguished in the early hours of this morning.

The person found deceased inside, who is believed to be the occupant, has not been formally identified.

Emergency services were called to the property at the intersection of Menangle and Picton Roads, Razorback, just before 4.30am (Wednesday, June 1, 2022), after reports of a fire.

Officers from Camden Police Area Command attended along with Fire and Rescue NSW, where a home was found well alight.

Following the discovery of the body a crime scene was established, which will now be examined by specialist forensic police.

The cause of the blaze is yet to be determined and detectives have commenced an investigation into the circumstances.

Also, a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
