If your child got a new bike for Christmas, Campbelltown City Council’s bicycle education and road safety centre is the perfect place to develop their confidence on two wheels in a safe and secure facility these school holidays.

The centre boasts a network of simulated roads with traffic lights, roundabouts and road signs, and a day at the track provides bike and scooter riders of all ages with fun physical activity and practical riding experience.

During the school holidays, the centre will be open to the public from 10am to 3pm on weekdays and Sundays, until Friday, January 27 (excluding the Australia Day public holiday on January 26), offering fun activities and a great opportunity for kids to master their new bikes.

Visit on January 17 and 24 to take advantage of the free jumping castle, or for beginners, there’ll be free balance bike trial sessions on January 20 and 23.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, said the bicycle education and road safety centre was a great place for children to have fun and get some exercise during the school holidays.

“The bicycle centre has a covered playground, a junior track for toddlers and barbecue facilities, in addition to the special school holiday activities like jumping castles and balance bike trials, so it’s an ideal place to bring the family for a free day out.

The bicycle centre’s learn to ride four-week after school program will run every Monday from February 13 to March 6 during term one, or private one-hour lessons are available on Mondays, Fridays or Sundays.

Bicycles and helmets are supplied, or bring your own.

The two-hour weekly educational sessions are hosted by a qualified instructor and are $40 per person (for four lessons).

The one-hour private lessons for all ages are available by appointment, with a maximum of two people per session.

The cost is $35 per person.
