No fewer than 19 community organisations will share almost $67,000 in the federal electorate of Hume through the 2025-26 Volunteer Grants program.
The funding will help these local groups purchase essential equipment and resources, making it easier for volunteers to continue supporting their communities.
They include Camden Rugby Union Club, which receives $4,109, the Girl Guides Association Camden ($2,200), Menangle Men’s Shed ($4,449), the Parish of Picton & Wilton Anglican ($5,000), and Picton Swim Club ($2,813).
Camden Falcons ($5,000) are also one of the 19 recipients, along with Sportz Braves Softball Club ($3,300), Thirlmere Tahmoor Roosters Junior Rugby League Club ($3,768), Camden Junior Australian Football Club ($3,000), Appin Dogs Junior Rugby League ($2,000), and Camden CWA ($2,500).
Rotary Club of Camden will receive $3,960 in funding, Appin Public School P&C ($3,000), Wollondilly Razorbacks Basketball Association ($2,950), Buxton Community Association $3,700 and Bargo Dingo Sanctuary ($4,000).
Camden Tigers Football Club successfully applied for $5,000, Camden Men’s Bowling Club $2,600 and Lions Club of Camden $3,316.
Federal Member for Hume Angus Taylor, pictured above with members of the Douglas Park Rural Fire Brigade, said the funding would provide practical support to the local organisations that keep communities connected.
“Volunteers are at the heart of these organisations, but they still need equipment, resources and support to keep operating.
“These grants will help local groups cover practical costs and ensure volunteers have the tools they need to continue serving the community.
