The No Intermodal Committee is a big deal to local residents, says a local MP.

Melanie Gibbons, the State Member for Holsworthy, said: “As a long time campaigner against this project, I know that this committee means a lot to local residents who are concerned about the Intermodal.’’

She was speaking in the wake of a Liverpool council decision to reinstate the committee.

The committee was established to coordinate the community’s and council’s fight against the Moorebank Intermodal proposed by the Federal Government.

It was removed a month after council elections last September.

Ms Gibbons said that the Intermodal project was currently on its most recent round of exhibition and has urged the community to submit their objections to this proposal, before the closing date.

“It is important for as many people as possible to submit their objection against this project,’’ the MP said.

“We need to continue to stand together as a community and make sure our voice is heard by the Independent Planning and Assessment Commission,” Ms Gibbons said.
