Totem Skate School’s popular skateboarding workshops will kick off again in February at St Helens Park Skate Park.

Every year these workshops give local skate enthusiasts the opportunity to sharpen their skills or learn new skills on the skateboard.

Campbelltown City Council, in partnership with Totem Skate School, hosts the monthly events at the three local skate parks – St Helens Park, Leumeah and Macquarie Fields.

The free workshops give participants the opportunity to learn from professionals, and loads of prizes, including t-shirts, hats, shoes and stickers are up for grabs to encourage skateboarders to show off their new skills, or for the more advanced, their awesome tricks.

Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic, said the workshops were open to people of all ages and skill levels, and encouraged locals to come along, have fun and make new friends.

“The workshops are a fantastic opportunity for those learning to ride, or experienced skateboarders wanting to develop their skills, to pick the brains of professional skateboarders and see first-hand what’s possible on the board,” he said.

The next clinic is on Saturday, February 18 at St Helens Park Skate Park, 3.30pm to 5.30pm.

Helmets and skateboards are supplied and while all ages are welcome to attend, parental permission is required for young people under 18 and registration forms are required to participate.

Supervision is required for younger children.
