Due to an unfortunate downpour of rain just at set up time, the Valentine’s Day performance of As You Like It at the Australian Botanic Garden, Mt Annan was cancelled.

But fortunately, due to popular demand, it has been rescheduled, under a full moon, on Saturday, March 7, at 7 pm.

Friday night’s audience were treated to spectacular starlit skies and a warm balmy summer night.  Here’s what two of our audience members said:

“Had a great time at As You Like It last night. If you are stuck for something romantic to do today, grab a picnic and a bottle of wine and head to Mt Annan Gardens tonight.”

February 14 at 8:38am:  Hi Juliet – I just want to say thanks it was a great night, we all really enjoyed the play and we were so lucky with the weather.  Cheers Louise (email received).

Cancellation for safety’s sake

“We  had over 180 people booked for the Saturday night performance so once we decided we needed to cancel for safety’s sake we just got on the phone and rang everyone,’’ producer Juliet Scrine said.

“Everyone we spoke to was very keen for us to reschedule.

“Those audience members who booked for the show on Valentine’s Day have been offered a full refund or can simply turn up for the performance on March 7.”

The Australian Botanic Garden, Mt Annan provides a spectacular outdoor setting for this classic Shakespeare comedy directed by Ian McColm.

As You Like It has twists and turns, mistaken identities, gender swapping, love, betrayal and silliness and has certainly pleased our past audiences.

Valentines Day may have passed but you don’t need a given day to be romantic it can happen any day of the year especially under a full moon, so come and join us on Saturday, March 7, Juliet Scrine said.

Audiences are encouraged to bring a blanket, a low deck chair, something warm and waterproof, some cushions and a picnic basket.

Bookings online at http://www.trybooking.com/GGGI or call 4267 3920 or visit www.egtc.com.au.  Tickets are also available at the outdoor box office on the night.
