
A man has been charged with a range of offences after ammunition, drugs and counterfeit cash were allegedly seized following a road stop Old Hume Highway on the weekend.
About 10.30pm last Saturday (May 9), officers attached to The Hume Police District were patrolling Old Hume Highway, Mittagong, about 5km north-east of Bowral.
While patrolling, police stopped a Mazda sedan and spoke to the driver, a 39-year-old man, and had reason to search the vehicle.
During the search, officers seized ammunition, two shotgun shells, a counterfeit $100 note, and drugs – 283.2 grams of methylamphetamine, 36.8 grams of heroin and 11.7 grams of cocaine.
The 39-year-old man was arrested and taken to Southern Highlands Police Station.
He was charged with nine offences. They included supplying prohibited drug greater than or equal to commercial quantity, two counts of supplying a prohibited drug great than indictable and less than commercial quantity, acquiring ammunition subject to prohibition order, possessing ammunition without holding a licence/permit/authority, possessing counterfeit money and two counts of possessing a prohibited drug.
The man was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court on the following day (Sunday, May 10), where he was formally refused bail to appear in Moss Vale Local Court on June 16.
