Cheers: Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr George Brticevic and Alkalizer Café owner Shefali Pall at this morning’s official opening.

An eclectic range of teas, coffee of the highest quality and a colourful array of delicious and healthy snacks stole the limelight this morning when the Alkalizer Café opened its doors for the very first time.

The newest café in Campbelltown brings something really special to the table: the use of alkaline water in all of the beverages it serves.

Which also explains the name of the café, which is located to the right hand side from the entrance to the Campbelltown City Council civic centre in Queen Street.

Mayor George Brticevic did the honours at the official opening this morning as he welcomed the new venture and its owner, Shefali Pall to the business world of the town.

Ms Pall, a Glen Alpine resident, has a strong background in the food industry, although this is her first venture as the face of the business.

“I’ve usually been in the background up until now,’’ Ms Pall told the South West Voice while we sampled some of her delicious tea and coffee.

Ms Pall said she was excited to be able to offer beverages made from alkaline water, which she said boosted the energy levels of the person consuming it.

But there’s another good reason for selling alkaline water at the café.

This morning’s official opening function also helped to raise money for the SPS Foundation, which supports the institute for deaf and blind children in Ludhiana, India, the home town of Shefali Pall.

Profits from the sale of bottles of alkaline water at the café will be donated to the institute on an on-going basis.

Long-term they hope to raise enough money to fund a Braille computer for the institute.
