The Australian and NSW governments today released the first Western Sydney Infrastructure Plan report card, providing a comprehensive overview on the first three months of major work undertaken as part of the $3.6 billion package.
Assistant Minister for Infrastructure Jamie Briggs said the multi-billion dollar plan will create more than 4,000 jobs, slash travel times for motorists and boost economic growth in Western Sydney, making it an even better place to live and do business.
“The Australian and NSW governments are getting on with delivering the infrastructure Western Sydney needs to capitalise on the economic gains of building a new airport at Badgerys Creek,” Mr Briggs said.
“Major projects including stage one of the $509 million Bringelly Road upgrade and the $70 million Werrington Arterial Road upgrade have already commenced major construction.
“Fourteen intersections, almost eight kilometres of road and 10 kilometres of shared paths have started since we announced this historic package last year.

Minister for Roads, Maritime and Freight Duncan Gay said the Western Sydney Infrastructure Plan report card provides detailed information on key project milestones and acts as a handy source of information for the community
“An extra one million people are forecast to live in Western Sydney by 2031, we are building the infrastructure upfront to support transport corridors, help the movement of freight and ease congestion,” Mr Gay said.
“The report card provides a review of progress on each project including detailed maps, construction start and end dates and major project milestones including a three month look ahead at upcoming work.
“Detailed information relating to public consultation such as the environment, health and safety and employment is also a key feature of the report card, which will be issued regularly as work progresses.”
