Liverpool Council is encouraging residents to help create a sustainable environment by joining its Bushcare’s Major Day Out.
On this coming Sunday, September 13, Bushcare’s Major Day Out is on at Harris Creek Reserve, Holsworthy from 9am to noon.
Meet at the bridge over the creek near the Holsworthy Train Station car park – end of The Boulevard Holsworthy.
“Come along on Sunday to find out about all the great work our bush care volunteers have been doing, and learn how you can help too,” says Liverpool Mayor Ned Mannoun.
“There’ll be a site tour to show all the work done by volunteers at Harris Creek Reserve, Holsworthy, and you can dig in and help improve the bushland with some weeding, as well as native planting.
“There will be a native animal display after the planting activity to show how native plants can create food and shelter for our local animals.
“The Liverpool event is part of the national Bushcare’s Major Day Out, which is an opportunity to find out what is being done and what can be done in your neighbourhood,’’ the mayor said.
“It’s also a great chance to do something with your neighbours and strengthen your local friendships.”
All plants and equipment are supplied.
Make sure you wear closed-in shoes, a hat and long-sleeved shirt.
