Tributes have poured in for the 2025 Campbelltown citizen of the year Judith Trimboli, who passed away recently.
Councillor Josh Cotter rose at the last council meeting on August 11 to inform the council of her passing and to thank Mrs Trimboli for her immense contribution to Campbelltown.
“Campbelltown has lost one of its dedicated champions,’’ Cr Cotter told the council.
“Judith, along with her husband Michael, gave so much to Campbelltown for many years.
“Judith was an advocate for our seniors, producing a newsletter, and was also active in the Cyber Seekers group as well as the Airds and Campbelltown Historical Society.
“Last year she was named Australia Day citizen of the year, and also received a jubilee award from council.
“Judith, thank you for everything you have done for Campbelltown.’’
The Campbelltown Theatre Group also posted a wonderful tribute of Judith Trimboli on their social media.
“It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Life Member Judith Trimboli, a loyal supporter, passionate advocate and much-loved member of our theatre family,’’ they said in the post.
“While Judith’s name may not have appeared in our production programs, her contribution to Campbelltown Theatre Group was immeasurable.
“She was one of the many dedicated volunteers who worked quietly behind the scenes, always willing to lend a hand and support the group she loved.
“Whether assisting front-of-house, attending meetings and events, or enthusiastically promoting our productions to friends, family, and the wider community, Judith was a true ambassador for CTGi.
“Together with her husband, Michael, Judith brought joy to many through their performances as clowns, sharing laughter and creating memorable moments wherever they went.
“She had a genuine love of theatre and an even greater love for the people within it, forming lasting friendships and enriching our community through her warmth, kindness and unwavering support.
“Judith’s dedication to serving others extended well beyond our theatre group. In 2025, she was named Campbelltown Senior Citizen of the Year in recognition of her longstanding advocacy for seniors’ rights and her tireless contributions to numerous local organisations, including Cyber Seekers, the Campbelltown and Airds Historical Society, and the Campbelltown Seniors Issues and Interest Group.
“Her commitment to community service touched countless lives and left a lasting legacy across the Campbelltown region.’’
A memorial service to celebrate Judith Trimboli’s life will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Leppington, this Wednesday, August 19 from 1pm, followed by afternoon tea at the Campbelltown Catholic Club from 3pm.
