The Campbelltown – and Macarthur – community is invited to help shape the future of Lynwood Park.

Consultation is now open on a draft master plan that will guide the long-term development of the popular football precinct, home of the Macarthur Rams football club.

Located in St Helens Park, Lynwood Park is one of the region’s premier football facilities and the draft master plan sets out a vision to transform the site into a modern regional sports precinct while protecting the surrounding unique natural environment.

Mayor of Campbelltown Darcy Lound said Council is keen to hear from residents, sporting groups and the wider community before the master plan is finalised.

“Lynwood Park plays an important role as the home of football in Campbelltown and the wider Macarthur region,” Cr Lound said.

“There are more than 13,000 adults and children registered to play football in the Macarthur region, highlighting the need for a regional football facility that will service the needs of this growing sporting community,” he said.

“This consultation is an opportunity for residents, football players, volunteers, officials and neighbouring communities to help shape a plan that balances sporting needs, community use and environmental protection for years to come.”

The draft master plan proposes a range of potential improvements including upgraded playing fields, a new clubhouse and amenities building, improved parking and access, expanded open space areas, a new play space and environmental measures designed to support local biodiversity and koala habitat.

The upgrades identified within the master plan would be subject to funding opportunities becoming available.

Community consultation is open until Friday, July 17. Visit overtoyou@campbelltown.nsw.gov.au
