Camden Rams in perfect start to 2026 premiership

It will come as no surprise to anyone that the Camden Rams have had a perfect start to the 2026 Wests Group Macarthur rugby league premiership.

The Rams have six wins from six games, 260 points scored, and just 68 conceded so far.

Oakdale Workers and Campbelltown Collegians have each lost one game to be two points behind the Rams on the ladder.

The Oaks Tigers, Campbelltown City Kangaroos and Thirlmere Roosters have each lost two games to be the next cabs in the rank.

Mittagong Lions have won two matches this season, while the South West Goannas have four losses, a win and a draw from their six matches.

Bringing up the rear are former powerhouses Picton Magpies with one win to their credit.

In bottom place are the East Campbelltown Eagles, another former high flyer, still searching for their first win in 2026.

The Eagles didn’t even bother the scorers last weekend when they went down 42-0 to cross town rivals City.

And the match was at the Eagles home, Waminda Oval.

Picton also went scoreless at home in round six, going down 64-0 to the Camden Rams.

Mittagong Lions also lost at home, 20-12 to the Oaks Tigers, as did the Goannas, who went down to Campbelltown Collegians 34-18 at Onslow Oval in Camden.

Indeed, the only side to win at home last weekend was Oakdale Workers, who downed Thirlmere Roosters 32-18.

On the surface of it, 2026 looks like another year of the Rams, but there’s a long way to go and anything can happen in rugby league.
