The Eschol Park Wolves under 15 boys team were the sole Macarthur Football Association representatives at this year’s Football NSW prestigious Champion of Champions finals – and they didn’t let us down.
Eschol Park romped home 5-0, after leading 2-0 at half time against Kellyville Kolts.
Coach James English praised his boys for sticking to their game plan.
“The best part about what the boys did in the final was the teamwork and competing hard for each other,’’ Mr English told the South West Voice this morning.
Last year the Eschol Park boys were runners up in the Champion of Champions and were determined to go one better in 2024.
Their coach said the core group of the team has been together since the under 12s, and they have been champions in their division over the past three years.
In the Champion of Champions, Eschol Park won through to the final with an emphatic 6-1 win in the semi finals.
They obviously took that form into the final, both in the scoring department and conceding goals.
Jackson Domanski, who struck first for Eschol Park in the final, grabbed a brace, with one goal each to Alexander Hoare, Jayden Kurniawan and Tyler English.
The Eschol Park final was one of 18 at the home of football Valentine Park over the weekend.
The cream of the crop grassroots clubs across NSW met each other in the various categories to determine who would be the champion of their respective age group.
Over 300 teams participated in Football NSW’s prestigious knockout tournament as over five thousand plus players battled week in week out in the hope of landing a spot in the prestigious finals.
This was the 54th year the Champion of Champions has been held by Football NSW.
