Former Origin and Kangaroos halfback Brett Kimmorley will again take charge of the Wests Tigers NRLW team for the 2024 season – with the first game at Campbelltown Stadium in late July.
Kimmorley has signed a two-year extension as NRLW head coach after laying solid foundations in the club’s inaugural season in 2023.
“Brett has done a great job building our women’s program to be one of the best in the game,” says Wests Tigers CEO Shane Richardson.
“We look forward to him progressing the program even further in the future.”
Kimmorley said he was excited to build on last year’s achievements.
“We achieved so much as a group in a short space of time in our inaugural season, and I can’t wait to build on that,” he said.
“So many of our players have graduated through Wests Tigers pathways, many of them played NRLW in year one, and others are knocking on the door.
“It’s terrific to have the bulk of the squad remaining together for a second season, with a few new faces as well.
“I know the girls are super keen to get pre-season started, and the hard work begins on Monday.”
There was much to like about Wests Tigers first season with 15 players making their NRLW debut.
Although missing the finals, the team was highly competitive.
Four of the team’s seven losses were by a margin of six points or less, following back-to-back victories over the Eels and Sharks in the opening two rounds.
Pre-season training for the 2024 season begins on Monday, June 3.
Wests Tigers first game in the 2024 NRLW season is at home against Canberra Raiders at Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Sunday, July 28.
