A Prestons man has been arrested and charged over a number of historic sexual assault offences against young girls in Campbelltown and Liverpool as far back as 1995.
In March 2015, detectives from Liverpool Local Area Command formed Strike Force Barbie to investigate numerous allegations of sexual assault against a 60-year-old Prestons man.
Following extensive inquiries, police went to a home in Prestons and arrested a man this morning.
He was taken to Liverpool Police Station where he was subsequently charged with the following offences:
– Three counts of aggravated sexual assault, one count of common assault, and three counts of sexual intercourse with a child between 10 and 14. These offences were allegedly committed against an 11-year-old girl at Ingleburn and Lurnea in 1995.
– One count of common assault, one count of aggravated sexual assault, one count of aggravated indecent assault, and one count of sexual intercourse with a child under 10. These offences were allegedly committed against a six-year-old girl at Airds in 1999.
– One count of aggravated sexual assault and one count of sexual intercourse with a child between 10 and 14. These offences were allegedly committed against a 10-year-old girl at Warwick Farm in 2012.
The man was refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow, Friday, July 3.
