There will be a big Macarthur presence when the national championship finals of Australian Physie and Dance Association (APDA) are held next month.
Camden mother and daughter Joanne and Phoenix Porter will hit the stage when they compete in the junior and senior championships.
Phoenix, 5 and Ms Porter, 35 took the stage at championship level in November when they qualified for the finals after some dazzling performances.
One of the secrets of their success was Joanne’s husband and Phoenix’s dad Daniel transforming their garage into a dance studio, complete with timer floors and mirrors on the walls, so the two can practice any time they like – and they did and it paid off.
And while it’s the first time the pair have progressed this far in competition, they won’t be the only Camden United Physie and Dance (CUPAD) representatives at the International Convention Centre, Sydney on Saturday and Sunday December 1-2.
CUPAD, which operates out of the Narellan community centre every Thursday, will have three other members competing for national honours.
Bree Evans, Casey Ashman and Oluchi Chyene will join Joanne and Phoenix Porter on stage while the rest of their friends and family will watch on with pride and admiration.
Joanne Porter, who is the principal of Camden United Physie and Dance, was ecstatic about its success in having five members at the national titles.

However Ms Porter said CUPAD was all about fun and friendship.
