The 10th AnnanRoma Food and Wine Festival is returning to the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan this Sunday, April 30.
It was originally scheduled for April 2 but had to be postponed because of rain.
With sunny weather forecast for this Sunday, spend the day (10am to 4pm) at Australia’s largest botanic garden strolling and grazing savoury foods along Eat Street as well as the new Sweet Street for some sugary delights.
Entry to the botanic garden is free and there is plenty of parking available.
Entertainment will provide ambience throughout the day with headliners Little Georgia and local acts Luke Koteras and The Bells making music.
There will also be hands-on activities for children hosted by the Garden’s expert educators.
But the main game at this festival is food, so if you’re planning to go, here are the Top 5 culinary delights to try when you get there:
Number 1. Vegetarian tacos – with fried globe artichoke, pico de gallo and a soft shell, this Mexican treat from Franco and Blanco is a fiesta for your tastebuds.
Number 2. Pljekavica flatbread rolls – get ready to be hooked on Balkan street food. This dish from Vulcan Balkan boasts chargrilled beef and pork meat patty with spices and a special capsicum relish called avjar.
Number 3. BBQ Duck Pancakes – a decadent, modern Asian fusion of sweet and savoury flavours that will dance on your palate, thanks to Kyubi Modern Asian Dining.
Number 4. Chocolate tea: A chocolate tea drink made from the natural and organic husk of the cacao bean and artisan hand-roasted to release natural flavours. Stop by RicoCoco’s for a taste.
Number 5. Authentic Sicilian Cannoli: Italian pastries made by real Italians from Siderno Pasticceria. They are filled fresh with locally made cream and dusted in icing sugar or drizzled in chocolate. Yummy, make that two, please!
