A toddler remains in hospital in a critical condition after being pulled out of a pool in Macquarie Fields this evening.
Emergency services were called to a home on Atchison Road just after 6pm where the two-year-old girl was pulled unconscious from a pool in the backyard of the home.
The child was rushed to Liverpool Hospital by NSW Ambulance paramedics and she remains there in a critical condition.
Officers from Macquarie Fields Local Area Command are at the scene and will investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police are appealing for information following a serious fail to stop crash in St Helens Park around midnight.
Police and emergency services were called to Kellerman Avenue at St Helens Park following reports of a crash involving a pedestrian and a car.
Initial investigations suggest the male pedestrian was walking against the traffic in the southbound lane of Kellerman Avenue when he was struck from behind.
Witnesses have told police the car did not stop after the crash.
A 22-year-old man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics for a fractured pelvis and lacerations. He was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.
Police investigating the incident have described the car involved as being a silver or white coloured Hyundai Getz hatchback with P plates.
The car had white and black premium numberplates with the letters TL either as the first two or last two letters on the numberplate.
Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the incident and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

A man will face court later this month after a dog died of stab wounds at Airds just after midnight.
Police say a 34-year-old man and 45-year-old woman were drinking outside a residence on Hazeldean Place, when the woman’s pet dog became spooked by fireworks.
Police have been told the dog bit in the leg and groin a 26-year-old man who was at a nearby house.
The animal was taken to a local vet, but had to be euthanized due to the extent of the injuries.
Police were called and the man was arrested.
He was charged with torture and beat/cause death of animal, stalk/intimidate and trespass.
The accused was granted conditional bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on January 23.
