Some of the world’s most rare and exotic bird species will be part of a show coming to the Macarthur region next weekend.
The birds will take flight in Feathered Friends, an incredible show of aerial acrobatics at the Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan on December 10 and 11.
Audiences will be treated to impressive close encounters with a threatened Red-tailed Black Cockatoo, a Blue and Gold Macaw from South America and a critically endangered Masked Owl among other birds over the weekend.
“The show will be highly interactive and educational, giving people the chance to see the features of these magnificent creatures like they have never seen them before,’’ says Ravi Wasan, head trainer at Feathered Friends.
“Terry, our Red-tailed Black Cockatoo, has one section in the show which will be a real first for audience members in western Sydney.
“They will be able to call out his name and have him fly straight to them!
“Feathered Friends connects people with birds and teaches them about their role in nature, life cycles and greatest threats,’’ Ravi said.
“We have been working closely with the Botanic Garden to create a show that tells this story.”

“So bring the kids, bring a rug and some afternoon tea, and prepare to be blown away!”
