Are you a member of a non-for-profit organisation?
Do you have hard working volunteers?
Could your organisation use up to $5,000?
If you have answered yes to any of these questions, then you could be eligible to apply for a Volunteer Grant.
Volunteer Grants 2016 from the Federal Government are now open to help not-for-profit community groups to support their volunteers.
Purchases of small equipment, reimbursement of volunteer’s fuel and transport costs or even towards the cost of training and background screening checks are just some ways these grants can be used.
“Volunteers are the backbone of our community,’’ says local federal MP Chris Hayes, the member for Fowler.
“They are hard-working and often get overlooked but they make a real and lasting difference in our community and these grants provide practical and tangible support,” he said.
Volunteers Grant 2016 Application Packs are available from here or you can contact the Volunteer Grants 2016 hotline on 1800 020 283, or email grants@dss.gov.au
“I understand the financial difficulties encountered by not-for-profit organisations where every dollar counts so I would encourage all organisations to apply for a Volunteer Grant,” Chris Hayes said.
Applications close on December 20.
