Campbelltown Youth Entertainment Reference Group (YERG) have received a $5,000 grant to fund the Fisher’s Gig music festival.
The grant, awarded under the NSW Government’s 2016 Indent Event Development Program, will support the Campbelltown YERG in staging a small showcase, pre-selection heats and the main Fisher’s Gig music event in November.
The Member for Campbelltown, Greg Warren, announced details of the grant earlier today.
“I want to congratulate everyone at Campbelltown Council and the Youth Entertainment Reference Group for their hard work on organising the Fisher’s Gig music festival,” Mr Warren said.
“This grant from the NSW Government will assist with the hire of equipment and other expenses involved in running the festival.
“I look forward to being there on the day to see some of our region’s most talented young musicians performing.”
Largest music festival in south west Sydney
Fisher’s Gig takes place during the annual Festival of Fisher’s Ghost and is the largest youth music festival in South West Sydney.
This year’s Festival of Fisher’s Ghost during November 4-13.
The Fisher’s Gig music festival will be staged on Saturday, November 5 at Bradbury Oval.
Pre-selection heats will be held this weekend, Friday and Saturday, July 29-30.
Local residents can help decide the local line-up for this year’s festival by attending the heats.
