Campbelltown City Council has launched a new, mobile friendly website, making it even easier to find the Council information you’re after, wherever you are – and fast!
The new website has been developed in consultation with residents and key users, and the result is what council calls a more user friendly experience, with a host of new features and functionality.
The home page is the place to start, offering quick links to popular actions and regularly requested information, the latest news and events, and information on how you can have your say on a range of plans, policies and proposals.
Using the Discover Your Area feature, residents can now easily locate Campbelltown Council’s many services and facilities, as well as find out what’s happening around them.
A quick property search can tell you everything from where to find the nearest parks, leisure and community facilities, to news, events and city improvements specific to your suburb, and even whether it’s green or yellow bin night.
The new smart search tool, accessed at the top of every page of the site, displays suggested pages and content as you type, based on the keywords entered – allowing users to find the information they’re looking for without wading through pages of search results.
Looking for a new pet? The new animals lost and for sale section is searchable by size, type, gender and age to help families find the right pet them, or browse the list of lost animals if a beloved pet is missing.
The site is also more accessible for all users, with language translation and text to speech functionality, allowing users to listen to the content on a page rather than reading through it.
Mayor of Campbelltown, Cr Paul Hawker, said the new website provided a wealth of easy to access information, which would help residents and visitors alike to discover exactly what makes Campbelltown a great place to live, work and play.
[social_quote duplicate=”no” align=”default”]“The development of the new website has been an exhaustive process, with collaboration across council and with community members who participated in our early surveys to help us understand what our website visitors wanted and needed,” Cr Hawker said.[/social_quote]
“Information that hasn’t been available in the past is now at your fingertips, with searchable information on all council facilities, parks, sports grounds and child care services, as well as improvement works taking place across the city.
“I encourage residents, ratepayers and visitors alike to visit the new site to try out the new features, and to share their thoughts – like any website, it will be constantly evolving and changing, and we welcome feedback to help ensure that the site meets the expectations of our community into the future,” Cr Hawker said.
Visitors to the website are invited to share their thoughts on the new design and key functions by participating in a short online survey.
Participants who complete the survey by August 26 will have the chance to win one of two Family VIP passes for the 2016 Festival of Fisher’s Ghost carnival, offering four hours of unlimited access to rides for up to five people.
